Peripheral Port Interfacing (PPE & PDA)

The PPE and PDA are used with either IviumStat or CompactStat to provide easy access to the additional Peripheral I/O which both units include. The Peripheral Port Expander is a high integrity but passive interface whilst the Peripheral Differential Amplifier provides high impedance differential inputs useful for connecting pH electrodes etc.
Both are used for driving, monitoring and triggering from real-world signals. Internal conversion functions can then be applied to interpret these in real quantities such as Temperature, Pressure, RPM, Drop Rate etc.
The PPE specs are summarized in the table on the left. Note — The PDA differs in that its
8 analogue inputs provide –2 to +2V differential inputs with > 1012 Ω input impedance. This can also be floating +/-V vs common.

  8 Analogue O/P (0-4V, 16 bit)

  2 Analogue I/P (0-4V 16 bit)

  2 Dig In.

  3 Dig Out

AC Out (10uHz to 2MHz, programmable volts)

  X/Y Inputs (+/-4V)
