The EmStat series are the smallest potentiostats available on the market. Despite their small size (from 6.7 x 5.0 x 2.8cm) and low cost, the EmStat series of potentiostats offers research grade capabilities. The EmStat is now available in two versions; EmStat3 and EmStat3Blue. + models are also available.
The EmStat3Blue (new for 2015) has an integrated battery and Bluetooth module allowing for wire free interfacing with your PC or Android device.
The EmStat has eight current ranges from 1nA to 100mA (EmStat3+ and EmStat3+Blue models) full scale, with a minimum resolution of 1pA. The potentiostat is controlled and powered by USB, and on the Blue models there is the option of wireless over Bluetooth and powered from an internal battery. They provide the most relevant electroanalytical measurement techniques and are used with either PSTrace software (for PC), which is supplied with each EmStat instrument, or PSTouch (for Android devices) which can be downloaded free from the app store. Using the EmStat3 (non-Bluetooth version) with an Android device requires the Android device to have a USB host capability, contact us for more information.
The instrument is delivered with a cell cable ending in 2 mm banana connectors with mini crocodile clips for the working, reference and counter electrodes. The + (100mA) models also have a fourth sense connection. The EmStat3Blue(+) also has an integrated connection build-in for Screen Printed Electrodes (SPE).
EmStat3 is available as a single channel potentiostat, combined with a multiplexer, as a polypotentiostat and multichannel potentiostat.

The EmStat3(+)Blue has an auxiliary port (pictured bottom left) that can be used with:
- Pt1000 temperature sensor.
- MUX8 and MUX16 multiplexers.
- Magnetic stirrer for stripping analysis applications.
- USB galvanic isolator for floating measurements.
- Differential Electrometer Amplifier (DEA) for use as a floating voltage amplifier with differential input and single output for measuring an auxiliary signal between -5 to +5V or -10 to +10V.
